This action is being started, TODAY, by Dr. Wayne Johnson, the whistleblower who was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the federal student loan program during President Trump's first term. You can see him here in a seminal interview with Tucker Carlson. The lawsuit seeks both compensation ($100k) for borrowers who have seen their credit score go down, and also seeks relief in the form of the return of bankruptcy protections to student loans. We rarely publicize class action lawsuits. This one is different. A Supreme Court Ruling last year decided (9-0), that the Department of Education could be sued for violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act against student loan borrowers. This has definitely happened with student loans. This case has opened a very important door for us, and we are the first to go through it. I asked Alan if I could reach out to you. I borrowed $55k in 1992. I’ve paid over $88k and still owe $36k. If nothing changes, I’ll be paying until I die. I can’t fight full-time.
