6/14/2025 Score One...The Battle is Raging-Ladies and Gentlemen:
See today's Livestream. Good quotes for us in this article at Newsweek today. Also, an excellent interview we did earlier this week about the "Big, Beautiful Lie" is now out. Check them out. This is the battle that all of us need to be fighting...
-Alan 6/13/2025 Send a Message to the President!Everyone-
The battle is raging. The bill that is being pushed through Congress right now is absolutely poisonous for us. We have to fight. Do your part, please- Godspeed, Alan LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT: ======================= Mr. President: The colleges, the student loan industry, and the Dept of Education are playing a vicious trick on you and the country with The One, Big, Beautiful Bill". -The Bill does not restrain student borrowing. In fact, it increases borrowing by nearly $20,000 per undergraduate student. This will add hundreds of billions onto the debt tab of the Class of '26, and every class thereafter. -The bill opens the floodgates for various tricks that the lending industry plays on the borrowers- tricks which come with a massive payment from the U.S. Taxpayer, and will never be repaid. -The bill increases (not decreases) funding for "administrative costs" of the Department of Education- by $1 Billion. This, for a Department you said you wanted to shut down. -The bill takes away your authority to cancel student loans broadly. You used this power twice in your last term. You need this power, Mr. President. I'm pretty sure you understand what a catastrophe these student loans have become for the country. The loans will have to be cancelled, and the ONLY way to do this at no cost to the taxpayers is through your executive actions. You do not want to lose this power over the Department of Education, Mr. President. The Congress of 1965 gave you this power for a very good reason. This bill is a giveaway to the colleges, Mr. President. It puts the student loan program- which really should be scrapped- on steroids. This is the most dangerous bill on student loans every to be likely to pass. Virginia Foxx and other House members have been corrupted by this industry, have betrayed their conservative principles, their states, and now want you to go along with this shameless, nation-wrecking, college-enriching theft of the taxpayers and the students. Please don't let them get away with it. I strongly urge you, Mr. President, to tell the Senate to take the student loan related language out of this bill. It is horrible for the taxpayers, horrible for the students, and horrible for your base, nearly 20% who hold these toxic, unconstitutional loans. Josh Hawley, Matt Gates, John Cornyn, Tucker Carlson, Wayne Johnson, Joe Rogan, Your speechwriter Frank Buckley, and many other conservatives all now agree: This lending system is failed, and standard bankruptcy protections have got to be returned. This is the only way to rein in the colleges, the Department of Education, and the student loan industry. The Big, Beautiful Bill does the opposite of that. Please act on this at once Mr. President. The country is being wrecked, and you, yourself have said that the federal government shouldn't be viewing this unconstitutional loan scam as a revenue source for the federal government. That is far truer and more compelling than ever. Good Luck and Godspeed, Everyone-

We have to hit Virginia Foxx and the GOP hard today.
We have an urgent interview request here if you're a defaulted borrower and your credit score has recently dropped. WE NEED YOU IN THIS FIGHT RIGHT NOW. THE COUNTRY NEEDS YOU. 🇺🇸 Strength in Numbers- -Alan Collinge 6/9/2025 Monday Action.Good Monday All-
The sausage is being made right now. We need you in this battle.
We need you fighting. -Alan 6/7/2025 Saturday. Important!Ladies and Gentlemen-
Today is the day we attempt to raise the fund’s we’ll need for the coming week: $700. This is equivalent to 35 people donating $20. Will you please consider throwing in your support at this time? I need to say, here: Our donations have plummeted from around $3000/month to less than $2000/month since the Department of Education turned collections back on on May 5th. At this rate, SLJ will have to end in a month’s time. Our expenses are very low. I live extremely frugally in a “shack in the woods” of Northern Wisconsin, But even I cannot keep this group in this battle (not to mention, survive myself) like this. I know many of you haven’t donated to us- maybe even haven’t thought about us- in years. I truly hope that you will nonetheless help get us through this. It is that important. http://www.studentloanjustice.org/donate.html Ironically, as we struggle, we are also in the strongest position we have ever been in! Just this year, so far, we’ve been featured in the New York Times, Newsweek, Reuters, NBC, The Associated Press, The Hill, and many other places. Just in the past month, people like Matt Taibbi, John Cusack, Joe Rogan, and others have either retweeted our stuff, and/or called for the return of bankruptcy rights to student loans. I’m seeing a sea-change for the better with the media, and with our group, which now has well over 1 million members (with most being distressed borrowers). So it’s both the worst- and the best of times for us in this fight!
We have remained completely free of corruption over these twenty years, so you know. We are now the only group fighting for the return of bankruptcy protections to student loans, and the national conversation is finally tipping our way… -I hope that you understand all of this, and will help. I hope all is well- Best Regards, Alan Collinge 6/6/2025 Friday. IMPORTANT!Ladies and Gentlemen-
