I know it's getting bad out there right now for 85% of student loan borrowers. If you're being shocked right now by outrageous calls for payment, have received threatening communications, etc, PLEASE TELL US ABOUT IT. These stories need to get out there. Let us know if you're willing to be interviewed. Fundraising Appeal: As the first, oldest, largest, and most important/consequential group in the nation fighting for student loan borrowers, we made a decision in 2005- twenty years ago- to never allow this group to be corrupted. We don't "do deals" with the student loan industry. We don't have secret "business partners" from the industry that allow us to hire a staff, pay ourselves a salary, etc (like the other big groups do) We don't make advertising revenue. We won't sell our members out. We never have, and we never will. I hope you recognize that this puts us all alone in the world of student loan activism. I hope you're starting to get that...and appreciate it. Our integrity is our most valuable asset. The corruption of the other groups makes them not only worthless, but an active threat/harm to all student loan borrowers. As such, we rely totally and completely upon modest donations from normal people for EVERYTHING. Our budget is tiny, compared to the other groups...usually around $3-4k per month. Most months (if you haven't noticed), we struggle, even, to to keep our lights on (literally). This week, we need 70 people to donate $10 or more to keep going. Will you please help? If 4000 people did this today, we could literally stop fundraising for the rest of the year. Around 5000 people are reading this update. So this is easily doable if everyone reading this Will you PLEASE consider it at this time? The group, and our effectiveness will benefit greatly. I appreciate the consideration...
