This is a developing story: Language has been snuck into a bill that would end the ability to cancel student loans by executive order. If you do nothing else to fight for student loan justice this week, please at least do this: This one is particularly important, folks. Please do your part in this fight...WE NEED YOU RIGHT NOW- Alan Ladies and Gentlemen-
President Biden announced his new loan cancellation plan yesterday. Unfortunately, it was vague, ambiguous, mentioned an "up to $20,000" cap, and will suffer all the challenges that the last plan did, and there are moves underfoot in Congress to undermine it. Today's action makes these clear:

We’ve been concerned since our petition started getting popular (and even before) that efforts would be made to kill the Secretary's power to cancel student loans by executive order. Well, that is now happening. Language was snuck into an omnibus funding bill for the FAA that would make federal student loans for aviation schools un-cancellable (and also raises the amount they can borrow to over $100,000.). This is quite concerning. This could be the beginning of a “death by a thousand cuts” strategy to kill our cancellation plan. Please take this very seriously. Today’s action:
