7/30/2023 Sunday Fundraising Plea...Everyone-
I have to make an urgent fundraising request: we’re needing 14 people to donate $20 or more by the end of the weekend. We have an upcoming $300 email expense, and literally have $40 in funds at the moment. Will you please help? A restaurant worker in Boston has put out a challenge for people to do a monthly, recurring donation, which would cut down significantly on our fund-raising if successful. In his words: “...Alan, maybe challenge them to do a recurring monthly contribution like I do and have for many years now. Sure, most people are cash-strapped and struggling, but they could pay something in place of that loan that is going to good use! I lost work during the pandemic, had housing problems, had to move and change jobs and still managed $50 a month. Not that I am so awesome, just as a reference point.” I hope you see the value in this group. See Friday’s livestream. It would be really sad if this group had to cease operations for lack of the relatively minimal funding we need to fight and win this battle- Thanks to everyone who has been stepping up lately. -Alan

We're tearing it up this week! Today's action:
Please also donate if possible. We still need 38 people to donate $10 or more this week- These are your loans, this is your battle, and September 1st is coming right up on us. We need you in this fight! -Alan Hey All! First, I want to thank the hundreds of people who submitted their stories about their student loan debt. Reading through them, one thing is clear: stories are powerful. We now want to take these stories to social media and launch a movement called #whatsyournumber. Legislators need to see how this personally affects everyone and know we are not just a number but real people behind massive amounts of debt. Directions: Make a copy of this template. You can edit the template to share your student loan debt number on Instagram and discuss how it has impacted you. To make a copy, log into your Canva account (you can make a free one), click file in the top left corner, and make a copy. Once you make a copy, you can edit that version, and only you will be able to access it and post that version! If you don't want to create a new Canva account, you can edit directly on the template and save your file - just make sure to revert the changes once you're done! Be sure to use the hashtag #whatsyournumber and tag change.org to join hundreds of others having this conversation. There are nine supreme court justices and 1.2 million of us; we will be heard. Thank you for continuing to fight with me. -Alan Collinge 7/19/2023 Big Day for UsHey All-
