Let's all of us write the White House today. We've done this in the past, and it got us national television coverage. Say something like this: ********************************** Mr. President, Since before you took office, the over-1-million members of our group have been asking you to fulfill your campaign promises, stop opposing student loan borrowers in bankruptcy court, and cancel federally owned loans. The vast majority of these people are deeply disappointed in your lack of action to date. The lending system is failed, Mr. President. Even before the pandemic, 85% were never going to be able to repay their loans, and over half had stopped paying. Student loan debt in over a third of US States (mostly red-states) now exceeds the state budget. The mid-terms are coming, and it is time to be bold, and make good on your promises to these 45 million people, more than half of whom are republican or independent, and the large majority of whom are in financial distress over this unconstitutional and predatory debt. Please step up and do what you said you were going to do. ************************************* ALSO: We still need 48 people to donate $20 or more this week. Will you please help? We are bombarding the federal "negotiated rulemaking session" with comments this week. See Sunday's livestream. This is a largely useless bureaucratic exercise where they allow public comments, and reporters do read these comments, so its a nice party for us to crash. Don't be nice. Make them feel your pain. My comment is below. Today's action:
Regards, Alan -------------------------- My comment: The lending system is failed and finished. -Suspend the lending program immediately, fund the colleges directly (at a reduced rate) until a new higher education funding model is created/implemented. -Cancel all federally owned loans, stop opposing borrowers in bankruptcy court, tell Congress to pass S.2598. -Apologize to the American people for the massive harms done to them by this unconstitutional lending scam. 7/17/2022 Upping the GameHey Folks-

We have to up our game and raise about $300 to expand our email list through the first week in October, when early voting begins. S.2598 is on the verge of being passed, what we do for the next few months means everything. Please see Wednesday's livestream, and help out if you can. We have to raise a total of $1,600/month to make this happen, so this $300 is what we need to pull the trigger for the first month. If 30 people donate $10, this will do it for us. Please help! We need to up our game. Bigtime. We are closer than we've ever been to finally getting the justice we deserve. We've been doing this for 17+ years now, and I am ready to be done. Are you not? We have an email list of 136,000 people. We need to expand our email reach to all of them. Every day for the next 3 months. This is what is needed to put us over the top. This will be somewhat expensive. Increasing our email list to all of these people will cost around $1,600 per month. This is the reality. Can we do it? Will 128 people donate $12/month for the next three months, so that we can afford to do this? We'll try to get the new people to donate to cover the increased cost, but we cannot assume that they will. We are the pioneers in this battle, folks. What we do matters.
