To the half-million who signed our petition before anyone was talking about cancelling student loans by executive order: I hope you appreciate how far we have come. Today's action: To the half-million people who signed our petition before anyone was talking about cancelling student loans by executive order: I hope you appreciate how far we have come since you signed. We are now on the brink of victory on multiple fronts...but we still need you. We said on day one that the petition would need more than just your signature to succeed. I'm glad to report that Senator Durbin repeated his intention to pass our bill, S.2598, for the second time in two weeks yesterday. This bodes very well for us, but we need to fight harder than we ever have right now: Follow us on twitter, and: Treat this one as if your student loans depended on it. If you have student loan numbers like what is in the image (ie you've paid more than you borrowed, but still owe more than you borrowed), please tell us what your three numbers are, and include whatever else you feel is important, so we can forward it along! 2. We're looking for families who’ve dipped into the lesser-earning spouse’s retirement savings account to pay for family needs (like college tuition). Email us if this is you, and include whatever information you feel is appropriate. *** Will you please donate today?! We still need to raise $80 this week. Thanks to Abby for her donation yesterday.
