5/10/2023 Very Quick Action Today...5/9/2023 TuesdayHey Everyone
Very quick action today:
Finally: We still need 10 people to donate $10 or more to meet now-overdue expenses. Will you please help? Please help, folks. Lot’s going on right now. We’re meeting with legislators across the country on a daily basis. See last night’s stream. We are exactly as strong as you make us- Hey Everyone
Very quick action today:
We still need 18 people to donate $10 today for current expenses. Will you please help? We are exactly as strong as you make us. Alan Good Sunday All-
Very quick group action today: Please remember that the loans will be turned back on soon, and without at least the leverage of bankruptcy on our side, it will get very ugly for us all. We're also still needing 23 people to donate $10 or more this week for immediate expenses. Will you help w/ this? This is your battle, and it's going to take a bit more than signing a petition for us to win it. We're it folks. We are the largest group in the country fighting this battle, and the only group fighting in the right way. I'll do a livestream about this tonight. Spread The Word- Alan 5/4/2023 Thursday ActionEveryone-
Today's action is quick: Also, we're needing 40 people to donate $10 or more this week. Will you please help with this? Finally, hats off to Gordon and Joanna for getting calls into C-SPAN this week. Everyone should be getting one call/month in. It's easy to do and it helps! See Tuesday's Livestream. This is your fight, folks, and we are the tip of that spear. -Alan 5/2/2023 Quick Tuesday ActionHey Everyone-
Very quick action today:
We're back on the road in the new "SLJ Van"! More on this soon... -Alan 4/30/2023 We're in NashvilleGood Sunday Everyone-
We’re in Nashville, Tennessee…With any luck, we’ll be headed back to Wisconsin in the new(used) SLJ Van by tomorrow or Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. We’re still needing to raise $80 for current expenses. Will you please help with this? If even 8 people donated $10, that would be perfect- Also, there is something quite concerning that came up related to other student loan “activists” opposing the return of bankruptcy to student loans. This is something we’ve seen in years and decades past, and you may want to be aware (wary) of it. I talk about this in Friday’s livestream. Anyhow, I’ll be doing a livestream tonight @7pm EST…I hope to see you there- We are exactly as strong as you make us. Alan 4/28/2023 Quick Friday Action, Good Letter...Hey All-
Very quick action today:
More soon, Alan ps. Please donate? Needing 30 people to donate $10 or more this week... 4/27/2023 Don't be fooled by this...Hey Everyone:
Today's action is very quick: Important: Don't be fooled by the stories being seeded in the media about people getting their loans discharged through the "new" bankruptcy process, folks. You'll be able to spot them, by how they fail to present the opinions of those who are critical of the process...something reporters used to do. The "new" bankruptcy process is essentially the same as it has ever been. Undue hardship remains in place. Borrowers STILL have to pay thousands upon thousands of dollars over and above their bankruptcy filing fees to initiate an adversarial proceeding, and the huge likelihood of being denied is still there. The only difference with this new process is that instead of undue hardship being determined by a judge, it is now essentially decided by bureaucrats/contractors at the Department of Education (these are the same people who have opposed borrowers for going to MacDonalds on Sundays, or having 15-year old children who could work to help pay off their parent's loans). The Swamp has been doing this for years. They trot out rare cases of discharge and point to it as proof that bankruptcy is possible for student loans. Please do not be fooled. This is a trick that the student loan swamp people have been playing for years, and I suspect we'll be seeing a lot of more going forward. See this article to understand this more fully. FINALLY: Please donate, folks. This battle gets much easier for us with your modest support. On the other hand, we won't exist much longer as a fighting force without it. This is your fight we're fighting...please make it easier on us. Sincerely, Alan |
