Thanks to the people in this group, we achieved a student loan cancellation, and the end of federal opposition to borrowers in bankruptcy in 2022...Remarkable! However: these wins are woefully incomplete, and 2023 will be a bigger fight for us. We need to raise about $20,000 to continue this fight through the end of Summer. Will you please help to get this year started out strong? Getting ACTUAL justice for these loans depends on it...Will you not please help with this? We had 2 major accomplishments last year: a student loan cancellation, and the end of opposition to borrowers in bankruptcy. Both of these remarkable achievements started here, in our group! However: they are woefully incomplete, and 2023 is going to be extremely difficult for us. It is critical that this group continue this fight in the new year. You can see our year-end wrap up here. Technically, we achieved two of our three goals, including a student loan cancellation, and getting the Department of Education to stop opposing student loan borrowers in bankruptcy court. I hope you can appreciate the significance of these- they both started here on this group. These results, however, were partial and incomplete, and this next year is going to be very difficult for us and everyone with student loans. The hardest part is ahead of us. If you want this group to continue into 2023, will you please donate something at this time so that we can? I hope you can appreciate the value of this group's existence, and will help. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I'm glad to report that our documentary, Loan Wolves, will be broadcast both tonight at 9pm EST and also tomorrow- Christmas Night- at 7pm EST on MSNBC. If you have not yet seen it, I strongly encourage you to. This is very interesting given that Congress- most notably the Democrats controlling Congress- frankly betrayed their obligation to return constitutional bankruptcy rights to student loans. While MSNBC is a very left-leaning network, the film is very balanced, and speaks to all sides of this issue. We'll be licking our wounds for the next few days, but will be back after Christmastime to move forward. We are not going anywhere, and we're only getting stronger. Sorry to have to report that our legislation will not be passed this year, and we are now headed into a gridlocked Congress. There is no other way to portray this, but as a major betrayal of the people by Congress. See last night's live stream to get the details. All of you who fought this battle with us have much to be proud of, and we salute you. We'll have more to say on this after the Holidays. We aren't going anywhere. We absolutely will get justice.
