Here is the press release for our bill. Read it for yourself. This bill MUST pass before the end of the year. January 1st is looming. We must get at least the leverage of bankruptcy back before then, or we'll be prey to the student loan collection industry. To that end:

Our bills are both out. These will, at long last, return bankruptcy protections to student loans, which will help everyone massively, whether they would ever or never file. We have until the end of the year to get this done, and we are the ONLY group of significant size fighting this battle. We absolutely must flex this muscle we have. Will you help?

The press release for our House Bill, HR. 9110, will be out today. See last night's 4-minute livestream. We are hearing of opposition to the Senate bill from the Historically Black Colleges and Universities and unnamed democratic Senators, and Senator Elizabeth Warren announced her own bankruptcy bill while our bill was being introduced that she knows cannot pass this year, which is baffling. To that end, today's action: I hope you are pleased with this progress, and pray you are inspired to help fight. These are your loans, there are hurdles in front of us, and we are the only group in the nation of significant size fighting this battle. Sincerely, Alan ps. Will you please also donate at this time? Our House bill is out and the press release will be out on Monday. See last night's livestream. The bill is HR. 9110: The Student Borrower Bankruptcy Relief Act. The hearing for the bill was postponed, but will be rescheduled soon. We are hearing of opposition to the Senate bill from the Historically Black Colleges and Universities and unnamed democratic Senators, who don't like the clawback provision. This provision is largely unenforceable/won't be enforced, so their opposition is unfounded, but it is there nonetheless. To that end, today's action:
Fundraising: Will you please also donate at this time? This coming week, we need to raise $1,300. It will be tough. Frankly, we're going to have to scale back our email list hugely because of the costs at this point, which have been over $2000/month lately. Please help out if this fight is important to you, particularly if you haven't donated in a while. Do your part. I hope you are pleased with this progress, and pray you are inspired to help fight.
