Score!

Hey Everyone,

I'm very glad to report that we picked up another republican cosponsor for our student loan bankruptcy bill, S. 2598.  Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) has cosponsored the legislation, so that currently, there are literally more republicans sponsoring the bill than democrats.  Thanks to Gordon in Florida, and everyone else who contacted Hawley's office.   This bodes extremely well.  We need to build upon this.  Please contact a republican senator today or Monday, get them to cosponsor the bill!

I do still need to implore you all:  Will you please pitch in a donation at this time?  We have a $25 fundraising challenge out from an anonymous donor in California:

Thanks to everyone who has stepped up lately...PLEASE...Make this fundraising easier on us!

Media/Celebrity Action:

We did a video forum the other night with Nikki Nolan.  We are interviewed this week at Fast Company.  Most importantly will you please like and retweet these, and bring in other celebrities into these who you think should be helping us?

Sen. Josh Hawley
Oprah Winfrey
Matthew McConaughey
Kanye West
Lady Gaga
Nicki Minaj

This all helps.  This is the battle.  This is your war.

Have a great weekend!

1 of 3 -- Thank you, again, for the shout out, Alan. It is true that my press inquiry to Sen. Hawley's office late Wednesday afternoon 9-15-2021, right at 4:59pm, actually (asking why he hadn't cosponsored that which he defended in his public Judiciary Committee comments) was, likely, the factor that pushed him to sign on, but 2 points of order:

First, you forgot this time to include a link to GOP Senators:

https://www.RepublicanLeader.senate.gov/senate-resources/republican-senators

While, yes, it's good for us eventually to get Democrat lawmakers to cosponsor, nonetheless, since GOP Republicans are often more reluctant, we should TIME SENSITIVE RIGHT NOW push weak-kneed GOP Senators (and GOP members of Congress in House of Representatives too) to sign on:

All the cool kids are doing it: Do you wanna be a bad Republican? Twice as many Republicans sponsor this: Tell'em this: "GET ON BOARD or get crushed by Democrats in midterm elections." My 2nd point of order has to do with talking points... see below...

2 of 3 -- Interim ADDENDUM: We need House Republicans *also* to sponsor a companion bill to S.2598. Please share this link too... https://www.gop.gov/about/members/

Thx. 🙂😊👍 Gordon

3 of 3 -- Lastly, I would like to invite anyone who needs help with talking points to come and simply look around at our FLORIDA CHAPTER for Student
Loan Justice https://Facebook.com/groups/465067400218298/?multi_permalinks=4424882404236758 While I'll approve anyone to join (even if not in Florida), nonetheless, don't feel compelled: My Fla chapter is PUBLIC, and you are welcome to look around, even if you're not a member. My point? Look at all our resources, downloading, saving, printing out, studying, and noting the many other resources we link as additional study notes.

While, yes, talking to lawmakers and news media are important, nonetheless, if you're confused, look at our study helps.

Lastly, I hesitate to post links to my own various columns or other legal memoa addressing Student Loan bankruptcy and Loan "Forgiveness" (actually cancellation is more accurate: we don't sin when we're victims of illegal price-gouging and need no forgiveness of this LOL), ... so, unless it's okay with Alan Collinge, I won't post my own research or my written testimony to the US SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE regarding S.2598, but folks -- if you're confused, info is all around us, and if you're not confused, you can speak to lawmakers via phone, or the Contact forms on their websites, etc. Let's do this!!
