SOME GOOD NEWS!

Picture
Hey Everyone-
The Department of Education said yesterday that they won't be garnishing social security.  That's good.  We have to push them far, far harder, though...
  • Please retweet this, this, and this.
  • Get us into a phone conference with your Republican Senator, preferably their judiciary staffer.  We'll do all the talking if needed.  Set 'em up...we'll knock 'em down!
  • See this livestream.
***Special Note:
Our donations have plummeted from around $3000/month to less than $2000/month since the Department of Education turned collections back on on May 5th.  At this rate, SLJ will have to end in a month’s time. Our expenses are very low.  I live extremely frugally in a “shack in the woods” of Northern Wisconsin,  But even I cannot keep this group in this battle (not to mention, survive myself) like this.

I know many of you haven’t donated to us- but I truly hope that you will  help get us through this.  It is that important.

Ironically, as we struggle,  we are also in the strongest position we have ever been in! Just this year, so far, we’ve been featured in the New York Times, Newsweek, Reuters, NBC, The Associated Press, The Hill, and many other places.  Just in the past month, people like Matt Taibbi, John Cusack, Joe Rogan, and others have either retweeted our stuff, and/or called for the return of bankruptcy rights to student loans. I’m seeing a sea-change for the better with the media, and with our group, which now has well over 1 million members (with most being distressed borrowers).

So it’s both the worst- and the best of times for us in this fight!

We have remained completely free of corruption over these twenty years, so you know.  We are now the only group fighting for the return of bankruptcy protections to student loans, and the national conversation is finally tipping our way…

-I hope that you understand all of this, and will help.

Best Regards,

Alan Collinge
