Our opposition is attacking. Hard. This includes both people like Steve Bannon on the right, and D.C. academic Adam Levitin. We need to strike back, folks.

If you are African American, and want to be interviewed, please email us, and include a short summary of your student loan situation. We'll forward it along! Happy Friday! We spoke with our contacts at the senate this week, and they tell us that all is on track with our bill. This is good to hear, but much has to happen before this gets through. I cannot emphasize strongly enough how important this bill is for getting loan cancellation, and any other solution you may wish to see. It is a necessary precondition for everything. So this makes our efforts all the more important. Will you please do these things today?!
We're going to have to raise nearly $800 next week. I'd like to get a jump on it. We have a $50 donation challenge out from an anonymous donor in California. Our opposition is getting desperate. They are going full-out against us as of a week-or-so ago. We need to step up and fight. Please also retweet this, this, and this. The more politicos, influencers, writers, etc. that you can retweet these to, the better...particularly conservatives. Also: give your senators a call, and tell them to cosponsor S.2598. Episode I of the film series is being screened at the Angaelica film festival this week. Please check it out if you haven't seen it yet. Very strong. Please also give many claps and share the 4 articles we've written in the past 10 days. The most recent is a guest piece from Lisa Ansell, who is responding to attacks made against USC as a result of their screening our film. These things all really help. Things are accelerating. This problem is coming to a head. We need your actions more than ever. We're seeing DAILY pieces come out that disparage and mischaracterize the borrowers, downplay or even dispute that there is a student loan crisis, and otherwise are aimed at killing both bankruptcy and student loan cancellation.
